Trustworthy Three-Factor Authentication.png

Short Description

This project comprises the development of a trustworthy three-factor authentication system based on possession, knowledge, and biometrics (e.g., a smart card and its PIN number together with an iris scan of the corresponding person). By trustworthy we mean that all components of the system, dealing with the plain data of one of the three factors, have to be developed in dedicated hardware. As software components, in general, provide a potential attacker more points of vulnerability compared to their hardware counterparts, replacing them with dedicated hardware blocks will increase the security of the authentication process significantly. This project comprises a variety of assignments in the field of security and signal processing based on an FPGA platform. Your task description and your contributions will only deal with parts of it.
