Summary

The PCB board evaLTE is an FPGA Mezzanine Card (FMC) module with RF support for 2G, 3G, and 4G cellular communication. It hosts an RF IC from ACP AG with 2G, 3G, and 4G support, a power amplifier, and power supply circuitry. The RF IC comprises a dual-receiver for single-carrier LTE receive diversity or downlink MIMO operation. Two antennas can be attached via SMA connectors. Control and data plane signals run over DigRF v1.12 for 2G and RBDP for 3G and 4G. The DigRF and RBDP control and data plane signals are routed directly to the FMC connector. The evaLTE FMC module in conjunction with a KC705 board from Xilinx are currently used for 4G transceiver development. The evaLTE board has been published in [1]. The predecessor of the evaLTE board named evalEDGE offered 2G support only.
