Short Description

Our bio-medical mixed signal SoC (VivoSoC) consists of custom analogue front-ends and a powerful PULP-based SoC/processor. For many applications in the bio-medical field, the heart-rate is an important measure in itself but also an important base for other algorithms. In this thesis, an algorithm for heart-rate detection shall be implemented for our SoC. The goal is to have an algorithm for PPG-based (photoplethysmography) and ExG-based measurements. First, an algorithm is to be selected/evaluated (e.g. from publications/previous work). Secondly, it shall be tested and verified in MATLAB with prerecorded data. Lastly, it shall be optimised to run efficiently on our SoC in real-time.

Experience with embedded software (C) and GUI design (C++/python) is desirable
