Short Description
Wearable technology is gaining popularity, with people wearing everything “smart” from clothing to glasses and watches. One of main application domains for wearble device, with growing importance, is the monitoring of the human body parameters. In fact, this can have a important impact in health care wellness and sports, and others. In all of these application scenarios, long terms monitoring of the physiological parameters is important for preventing risking efforts for people but also to give performance information (i.e. Sport) and in general to maintain a good healthy state. In this project the students can deal with design, implementation and in-field evaluation of a novel e-sking sensors and ultra low power smart bracelet powered by energy harvesting. The main goal is to achieve a long term monitoring of the parameters, acquire them with the on board microcontroller and eventually process them (with machine learning algorthms) directly on board or sending them in a remote host (i.e. a smart phone or PC).
The proposed project will be coordinated in collaboration with the Wearable group of prof. Troester.
